British Values
As a primary school we have a duty to teach our children about fundamental British values.
These are:-
Democracy
Rule of law
Individual liberty
Mutual respect and tolerance for those of different faiths and beliefs and those of no faith.
At Balderstone St Leonard’s CE Primary School we believe in living out our mission statement of loving God, loving each other and loving learning.
All members of our community are welcomed as part of our school family. Each individual is valued as being special, unique and loved by God
The promotion of fundamental British values are at the heart of everything we do. They are promoted through, the spiritual, moral, cultural and social development of our children.
We believe in preparing our children for life in Modern Britain. We want them to feel confident in standing up for what is right and that they can be the instigators of positive social change.
British values are taught through:
- The whole school mission and ethos.
- Daily collective worship
- PSHE
- Our broad and balanced curriculum
- Extra-curricular clubs and activities
- Our schools council
- Community links
- Support for charities
- Visits and visitors
- Sport
